Erin Zwiener is a fifth generation Texan born and reared in the Dallas and Austin areas. An avid horsewoman since she was a child, she was pulled west by dreams of mountains and rugged trails. 

Erin studied forestry at the University of Montana and spent her college summers leading tourists through the wilderness on horseback. In 2007, she rode her mules 1,400 miles through the back country along the Continental Divide. She holds a bachelor’s degree in natural resource conservation and a master’s in creative writing, and has the distinction of having defended the winner’s chair on the television game show “Jeopardy” for three days. 

Since 2019, she has served as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 45. She makes her home in Driftwood, Texas, with her husband Quincy Kennedy and their daughter Lark.

Little Red Riding Boots is her first book; it launched her Once Upon the West Fairy Tale Series in Fall 2013.
